Gallbladder Sludge
What Is Gallbladder Sludge?
Gallbladder sludge is a condition that occurs when the gallbladder does not empty completely, and the bile in the organ thickens to form a gel-like substance.
This gel-like substance comprises various particles, such as cholesterol crystals and calcium salts. Gallbladder sludge may come and go, but when it accumulates in the gallbladder for too long, it can lead to gallstones and an infection in the gallbladder.
