In-patient Hospital Treatment in Singapore: You’re covered for daily ward and treatment charges, including surgical benefits (day surgery) and other inpatient hospital treatments as specified in the policy’s schedule of benefits.

Out-patient Hospital Treatment in Singapore:

Your plan covers treatment such as:

  • Radiotherapy

  • Cancer drug treatment (as per MOH’s Cancer Drug List)

  • Outpatient kidney dialysis

  • Immunosuppressants for organ transplant

  • Erythropoietin for chronic kidney failure

  • Long-term parenteral nutrition

Pre- and Post-hospitalisation Treatment: Covered for up to 180 days before and 365 days after hospitalisation, if prescribed by a panel specialist. This includes follow-up visits, medications, investigations, and diagnostic services related to the hospital stay.

Emergency Overseas Treatment: You’re covered for immediate medical treatments in hospitals abroad due to severe injuries or conditions. However, treatments given before or after these emergencies are not covered.

  • Outpatient procedures performed at private clinics, public hospital’s short-stay wards, community hospitals, and overseas treatments.
  • Treatments for conditions like pregnancy-related treatments, cosmetic surgery, HIV infection or AIDS, among others mentioned in the full list of exclusions in the policy contract.

While the GREAT SupremeHealth offers comprehensive coverage, you’re still responsible for a co-payment, which can vary depending on if you have purchased a rider. Without a rider, your co-payment can amount to 10% of your total bill. With a rider, there is a minimum 5% co-payment for treatments.

This means that even if your treatment is covered with a rider, you are required to pay at least 5% of the medical expenses out-of-pocket. For instance, if your medical bill is $1,000, you’ll need to pay a minimum of $50, and the insurance will cover the remaining $950.

For assistance on your insurance plan, feel free to contact G&L Surgical.

GREAT SupremeHealth policyholders receiving treatment at G&L Surgical Clinic can benefit from a Letter of Guarantee (LOG). This helps with the upfront cash deposit required for hospitalisation or day surgery, depending on the hospital that you are admitted to and their policies. For most patients utilising the LOG, the following arrangements should apply:

  • In-patient and Out-patient Hospital Treatments: No upfront payment required, however, once the claim is reviewed, and the final outcome/payment will be relayed to the hospital, you will be sent the final bill and manage any refunds if applicable.
  • Pre- and Post-hospitalisation & Emergency Overseas Treatment: You will need to pay upfront. Afterward, you can submit your claims for reimbursement, which typically takes around 14 working days once all necessary documents are submitted.

Letter of Guarantee

A Letter of Guarantee (LOG) is a facility offered to GREAT SupremeHealth policyholders when seeking treatment at major hospitals in Singapore. It is designed to assist with the upfront cash deposit required for hospitalisation or day surgery.

However, it’s worth noting that the LOG is not an automatic indicator of claim approval. The claim details, including the medical condition and treatments, will still undergo a review by Great Eastern.

For treatment provided by a private specialist from GREAT SupremeHealth’s Panel, such as Dr Ganesh, the LOG amount can be up to $50,000.

For policyholders of GREAT SupremeHealth Plan, you may approach our clinic for assistance in requesting for a LOG. Our team will be able to assist in making the request to your insurer on your behalf.

The LOG will usually be issued to the hospital 2-3 days after the request is made, provided all criteria are met.

How To Make A Claim For Your GREAT SupremeHealth Plan

Understand the steps needed to submit your insurance claim. Contact our clinic and we will be happy to assist you with your claim.

Hospitalised Patients: For patients who are warded following the treatment, your documents will be submitted via e-Filing from the hospital’s administration.

Outpatient Patients: Patients are required to submit their documents electronically via the hospital or medical institution, as they are required to send all claims electronically through the system set up by MOH. You may visit the Great Eastern website for your hospitalisation claims submission. Alternatively, you can contact our clinic and we will be happy to assist you with your claims.

For inpatient and outpatient hospital treatment in Singapore: The claim will be reviewed, and the final outcome will be communicated to the hospital, who will then send the patient the final bill. The hospital will also handle any refunds if applicable.

For pre- and post-hospitalisation treatment and Emergency overseas treatment: Claims typically take around 14 working days to process once all necessary documents are received. If further clarification is needed, it might take longer, and you will be kept informed.
